After many years trying to get a Santa Cruz dealership, we went one better and started stocking Intense Cycles frames. Next door to Santa Cruz and sharing the Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) patent, Intense frames are handmade in California, USA. Classically hard to get, these frames are made in small numbers with fantastic attention to detail. A small but complimenting range covers all bases from race bike through to World Cup winning downhill frame.
The all mountain market really suited the 5.5EVP (RIP) frame. Our first Intense demo bike showed us just what Intense bikes were all about. Steep angles and quick handling, our demo bike threw me off in the first few miles at Ae Forest trail centre but went on to put a massive smile on my face.
2009 could be a stand out year for Intense. The evolution of VPP2 has help create a series of new and up to date frames. Tracer VP is a new bike to the range retiring the trusty 5.5, whilst the Spider and Uzzi get a VPP2 revamp.
